Prototype Version 3
Prototype v3 is ready for playing!
What has changed since v2?
I reworked the dash ability to work more like a dodge mechanic. It gives you invincibility frames to dodge incoming attacks!
You can now also upgrade your max health in the level alongside your weapon damage.
Weapons now have recoil so timing your shots is key.
Updated tutorial slightly for the new mechanics.
Added a few more sounds and effects. Still mostly place holders though.
Added two new weapons. A new SMG with a high magazine and fire rate. And a new mystical shot gun that shoots a strange new type of bullet.
I also tweaked the controls a bit to make them more snappy and smooth. I will updating the controls and animations with each version.
I went through and did a big balance update. Things are a little cheaper and you have more flexibility to try out different weapons.
But the biggest part of this update is my new friend BRUTUS.
Brutus is my first attempt at a boss fight. He has a few different moves and you need to dodge around and attack him while dealing with the hoard of enemies. His art work is obviously temporary and his mechanics will be adjusted and added to as I get player feed back.
So what's in store for v4?
For version 4 I will be overhauling the load out system. You will have a slot for a rune. Runes will gives you different affects such as using health instead of FP to dodge or convert all your bullets to fire bullets.
You will also have 3 ring slots. Rings will give you little buffs to your base stats. Such as increasing max health, faster reloading ect ect
To unlock these things you will need to get credits. You get credits by surviving in rounds. When you go back to the main menu the round you got to will be converted to credits for you to spend unlocking this new gear.
Also inside the load out you will be able to change your melee weapons. Changing the melee weapon will replace the default melee. Melee weapons will be exotic and drop from bosses. I have plans to make exotic guns as well for a future update.
With this next update I will be redesigning the Menu UI to look pleasing and function better.
With each new update I will add 1 or two more weapons
